Deanna and I celebrated my fourty-second birthday at BRAVOs, in the St. Matthews area in Louisville. We dined on wonderfully fresh salads and homemade bread, with herb-laced olive oil for dipping. Dessert was on the house...wonderful gelato- the best that I have had here in The States. Our Executive Chef started his career cooking for the creator of Garfield, and I am not making that up. He has worked at the Indianapolis BRAVOs branch, and is now in Louisville. According to him, innovation and creativity in the kitchen can make anyone, even the mircrowave-suited housewife, a gourmet chef, one whom truly enjoys the sights, sounds, and tastes of the whole cooking excperience.
